Sculpture

The Innishman

Sculpture Depicting a fisherman from the Arran Islands. The piece was created from photographs, sketches and drawings from 1963. This depicts a fisherman of that period in half life-size. He is wearing clothing of homespun untreated wool and shoes of wood and leather, all hand made on the island. In his left hand he holds an oar and his right hand is clasping a coil of rope.

Exhibit Info

The template is for sale and there will be three limited editions with purchaser participation welcome. One possible option would be for the left hand to be holding a long boat-hook with the right hand holding a pair of rowlocks.

This matter to be discussed between John Toomey and the purchaser. This is an ideal opportunity to participate at the wax stage and indeed the investing and pouring of the piece.
